Pros
So there seems to be some confusion here about who OCZ is. Before the Toshiba purchase, it was known as "OCZ Technologies". Since then, the name has been changed slightly to "OCZ Storage Solutions". Not two companies, just one who is trying to better describe itself. Got it? So this is a firm who is greatly positioned for the long term as a premier SSD provider to enterprise and client markets. They have their own firmware and software teams, their own controllers and a truly stable supply of high quality NAND. Oh yeah- they also have money, which has been a problem in the past. There is no better place to be in storage than OCZ right now. Having all that technology in-house means that there are a lot of irons in the fire and our engineering teams are swamped. We are constantly looking for smart engineers who know storage. Career growth potential is very high for anyone with a background in storage, especially SSDs. Work-life balance is not the usual Silicon Valley Schtick- (Work-life? what's that first word? There's your priority...). There are a large number of people here with kids (grandkids too!) and we are all expected to have a stable home life, as it will keep us all better balanced human beings.
Cons
OCZ spent a long time laying people off, and cutting corners where ever possible to save money. It still shows in the benefits plan, but it's getting better. Also, I mentioned above that engineering is always overbooked. That's good and bad, as occasionally pet projects get put on a back burner, but it certainly means there is no shortage of work to be done!
