Pros

As others have stated, your experience depends entirely on if you have a good mentor who facilitates your growth, or not. Mine has been great and I've learned lots of transferrable skills in my year here

Cons

pay and benefits are not great - forces you to take off around 20 unpaid days (holiday & sick) every year if your mentor sees you as cheap labor.... you will have to be pretty self-motivated to learn
