Pros

It's a job, that's all.

Cons

They over-hire, then float the life out of you. They also terminate like crazy. Upper management has no idea what's happening, which makes it hard for the employee to know what's going on. Not enough staff employed, they cannot keep core staff. Management and charge nurses are routinely contract. The south tower is a disgusting mess, every part of it needs to be re-done. Their standard of care is subpar. Everything about this place is better from the outside looking in, once you get in you are shocked at how much of a mess it is. Unsafe ratios, be prepared to have 10-15 patients as a CTA in the south tower while in the north tour they have much better ratios AND work atmosphere. Sucks. Parking is a nightmare. Just stay away so you don't have to quit.

Pros

Level 1 trauma center where you get to work with patients you'd never see otherwise - teaching hospital where you can pick lots of info up

Cons

Can be a hot mess - and a lot of 'fend for yourself' chaotic feel due to the size. If you don't mind asking questions, you'll be fine. Lots of brand new nurses, not a terribly 'homey' feeling...but it's worth it for the experience.
