Big company with big ambitions but small structure
Pros
I enjoyed working for Ocado for more than 3 years. However, I couldn't see myself progressing there as you mainly have to be a politician rather than an engineer. Your hard skills are required just to get the job in the first place, after you need to learn how to navigate uncertainty, ask for permission to do anything. They will give you small projects making you feel like that is all yours and you are going to be accountable for it, but the reality is that all of the decisions you'll take will have to be approved by 5 or 6 people above you. It takes forever to do anything hence there is delay on delivering projects hence the machines delivered are very poor engineered. Not all that shines is gold
Cons
Not clear structure No salary progression Male dominated environment
