Pros

You get a chance to be trained in all the different areas with a pay increase each time.

Cons

You might be sent home if business is slow. If you are cross trained in more than area you will be required to be multitasking

Pros

You are able to get experience in a medical type setting which is perfect for health science students

Cons

Poor scheduling, you get very little heads up before scheduling drops. The time it says you will leave is not the time you will leave. They expect you to be extremely flexible with your scheduling with no notice. You cannot make plans because they expect you to drop everything. Management doesn't keep their word, you can come to an agreement with a scheduling change and they will not always honor it. They play favorites, if you're on their favorites list you can leave early every time and get scheduled exactly what you want. Managers give off don't talk to me vibes, they gossip in the office about their employees and they are repeatedly rude sometimes to the point of rolling their eyes at you abs just walking away without answering concerns

Pros

The work gets easier after your training when you learn how to pace yourself. I got to work all the overtime I want.

Cons

Flaky coworkers can call out and still come back so long as they don't do it more than 6 times within six months. Management cannot seem to find the right people who have integrity to do their jobs and own up to their mistakes. The center cannot seem to keep employees long enough to fully train them and keep a full staff. At the same time the center won't hire more people to keep the donors moving so a donation that normally takes 2 hours will drag to 4 hours- that is poor customer service. Poor customer service leads to fewer donors which leads to low production output which leads to a hiring freeze which leads to burnt out employees won't want to stay longer than 8 hours beyond their 8 hour shift.
