Pros
It makes you good to know you are helping others. Decent health insurance, medical, dental, vision, 401k, health savings plan etc starts upon hire.
Cons
None of the plasma is kept here in the U S. It gets shipped over to Europe then gets distributed. They pay the donors the very bare minimum and they don't give the donors the saline anymore to replace the plasma lost during donation. This is simply just a cost issue. You are on your feet literally the entire shift minus a 30 min.lunch break. Forget about a smoke break or a 15 min break. You won't get it. Extremely rude donors and other coworkers. Zero teamwork from other coworkers. Everyone is out to get you and trying to make themselfs look better. Horrible work environment. Its dangerous to work with blood and risk exposure all shift. You don't get compensated what you are worth. Health insurance...mmost meds require prior authorization. This place was dirty! I will never return there to donate unless you want to risk getting an infection or disease. We had to pay for our dates meal at the Christmas party.
