Pros

Starting pay around $17.50/hr and after a year you'll be up to about $22.50/hr. The dock supervisors are good. Most of them have been in your shoes at one point in our terminal. Best priced benefit package I've seen for health, dental, and other perks that I do not take advantage of.

Cons

If full time you will have 50hr work week in five 10hr days. tough hours, usually graveyard shift for new hires. You're exposed to the elements you'll have no paid time off for the first year and requesting a day off in that time can be like pulling teeth.

Pros

Great pay, PTO time , management is awesome. Plenty of hours especially if you are willing to work the dock.

Cons

On-call if your a bottom man. Routes are hogged by upper drivers. No bidding on routes. Routes are built relationships over time with driver-customer interactions. No time to take lunches if your not assigned a route. Heavy favoritism towards certain individuals. Some get fired for the smallest things, others screw up all the time and are late every day but never get fired. Either become a suck up or get fired quick. Also get used to delivering and picking up impossibly shaped and heavy freight that you have to get up or off your lift gate trailer. I once had delivery a crate that was 8feet by 4 feet by 4feet to a residential. It weighed 1500 lbs. I had put a pallet jack on one side and a box dolly on the other and slowly nudge that crate from the nose to the lift gate. It took all my effort to manipulate that POS. Once you get it to the lift the battle is only halfway over. You then have to dangle it off the lift gate and man handle it onto the ground. Get used to this if your at the bottom of divers.

Pros

great company, great pay and benefits, wonderful bosses, treated me like gold while I was there. I always liked the older trucks over the new ones.

Cons

I was 100% faithful to this company for 19 years, I've done it all for them, had 2 surgeries on my arm, they called me and terminated me while I'm still under doctors care, they said the doctor has had me out too long.
