A great family environment

Pros

Clear guidance is given from the various levels of management which all work towards the same goals Free reign for creative solutions is given so that projects are able to absorb change more readily Close family type of team environments where colleagues and management are friendly Good communication from top down as well as laterally. It is a case where both hands know exactly what the other is doing and they work together to get it done.

Cons

Work from home option is available but discouraged Really though, there is not much bad to say about Old Dominion. They are a company on the rise, led by great people and staffed by knowledgeable personnel. I greatly enjoy working here.

Pros

Salary, and bonuses when they decide to pay them.

Cons

No training outside of the drivers and the dock workers. When they promote these individuals are rarely qualified and have no real reason to be in the positions they are in. I have not been able to decide if this is because the manager or managers above them feel job security knowing the people below them could not find their pay out of a paper bag? They sell family but there is none to be found and corporate profits and greed are the order of the day. At our terminal we had to buy our own coffee and use our own money when there was a mistake.

Pros

Great pay and benefits. Very friendly work enviroment. Great managers We are kept informed as to how our individual terminal is doing and also the company as a whole. Very family like enviroment. I like that even though it's a large company, it feels like a family run buisness.

Cons

The only con I have is the raise schedule. I don't like the "across the board" raises not merit/performance based.
