Pros

High level of energy. Youthful environment. CEO is a good guy, though not from the rail industry, and very few in senior management are railroaders.

Cons

Railroad mentality, for better, or likely, for worse. Railroads are the original, and reigning king of "That's how we've always done things", and OmniTRAX is 100% this way. Also, if you're not at the VP level, your thoughts don't count.

Their are some great people to work with and will help grow your career. Good location.

Cons

Over the last couple years the overall Accounting and Finance depts. have seen a lot of turnover as the CFO changes the roles underneath him and brings in outside people for his managers/directors, not much internal promotion. As the focus of the company moved from Safety and Culture to a Bottom Line mentality many good employees were let go in HQ and well as in the field. Although it is understandable for the move the manner in which the change happened left many wondering of the strategy of the layoffs.
