Unspoken truth

Pros

The hourly pay rate is decent.

Cons

Did not explain what job involved out front. Rather, you learn two weeks later, after being hired and trained that there is a lot of walking, carrying heavy weight, and bending repeatedly. The immediate supervisor was new and covered up her mistakes by denial.

Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or frustration you may have experienced. It is important to us that job expectations and responsibilities, such as escorting students out of their classrooms before/after every session, are communicated clearly from the outset. Our goal is to provide our students and school administration with the highest level of service while ensuring the happiness and well-being of our staff. We attend to the concerns of our staff and strive to provide accommodations brought to our attention to the best of our abilities within the schools that we are contracted at.

Depends on the school location

Pros

Everything depends on the school you are placed with. I’m at a great location with helpful staff and friendly kids. There is little prep involved for my lessons each day. It’s relatively stress free.

Cons

Was originally told I’d work 30 hrs a week to receive benefits but am only scheduled for 29 hrs per week so they don’t have to provide benefits. Not cool. There isn’t any room for upward movement and pay is built around the school district schedule. It’s a good “mean time” job but don’t plan to stay long term especially with no work in the summer.
