Pros

Before Merger: I was with Community Blood Centers from 2005-2008 then I had a military obligation and came back 2010-2013. Mission statement, good co-workers, advancement opportunities, pay/raises, and schedule. This was a great company and I can honestly say the founder and CEO took care of his employees. We received monthly bonuses when we made our goals and we had Thanksgiving, Xmas parties, and company picnics. Everybody looked out for one another. At the blood drives, we made our goals and were done. Sometimes, our manager would allow us to leave early from the blood drives. Recruiters and Team leaders got along good. Human Resources were always they to help you when you needed them. All in all, we had fun at our blood drives. I looked forward to coming to work because everyone got along. Yep, those were the days. The only good thing I can say about the merger was that I was able to transfer to Central Florida but that was a mistake.

Cons

After the merger: Things kind of went down hill. We lost some great people that looked out for the employees. People were let go and people quit because most were against the merger. The top people lied stating that no one would lose their jobs...........BS. When I transferred to the Central Florida office, it was just a different atmosphere, more negative than positive. And I will leave it at that. The merger may be a PRO for the top management because of the money aspect, but a CON for the front line employees ie Teamleaders, recruiters, and phlebotomists. And from reading most of the comments, it's getting worse. Just know that you lost a great employee.

Pros

Used to be about saving lives

Cons

Now middle management only cares about their bonuses. Was just told not allowed to leave desk for lunch or breaks.

Pros

There are no pros at this time. Ever since the merger things have gotten so much worse.

Cons

Constant fear of losing job and watching what was once a good non profit company just keep firing people and not replacing. Not running like a non profit. CEO keep getting higher wages and hard working employees get nothing.
