Pros

My individual branch leadership is hands off (almost too much). Don't need to worry about micro mgmt. District mgr is very good, pitches in right along side us. Leads by example. Won't ask anything not willing to do themselves.

Cons

Base salary is crazy low. Incentives make in more in line for sales. But incentives are linked atogether collection goals too. So you can sell all month, surpass goals, and make no bonus if branch doesn't make delinquency goal. Very convenient loophole to not pay sales bonus incentives. Serious sales people are going to want to be paid for each loan they sell. Each loan makes $$ for company.

Pros

Helps you learn about credit and finances. Branch-level work environment is great. Having a good team in the branch is the only reason I've stayed as long as I have. They hire with no experience if your goal is to get your foot in the door in the finance industry. Bonuses are pretty good for hitting your monthly quota.

Cons

Upper management is never satisfied. You're doing good? Great! Do better though. They will give you more and more work responsibilities while giving you little to no compensation for it. This company makes so much money there's no reason to not compensate their employees. Unrealistic job expectations WILL burn you out. It's just a matter of when it will. You can make at least $5 more at other financial institutions doing the same thing. I'm actively looking for other work for this exact reason. I'm making $21 an hour where other companies will give you at least $26 starting. (In my state) Pay raises are terrible as well.

Pros

Plenty when it was American General and Springleaf. None since becoming OMF

Cons

You are a bill collector plain and simple. Targets set so you will not attain them so company will not have to pay incentives. Incentives are budgeted annually, so they must have failure by the employees to not exceed incentive budget. All management is two faced, will be a friend to your face then throw you under the bus. HR will not support employees. You are replaceable is the motto for management. They care zero about you as a human being, especially in the Midwest market. The CEO hides in his corporate office and only cares about the shareholders. Do not work for this predatory lender.
