Be careful!

Pros

The values are great when used properly! When I first started the environment was relaxed, which helped with working comfortably. Executives was pretty cool and open to new ideas.

Cons

You have to be careful when trying to be yourself. I felt with the new manager in my department, I was stereotyped and judged. I wasn't able to express my feelings about the assumptions. I was told I was non receptive to possible feedback. How can a person be non receptive to possible feedback if it was never given or you only got good feedback? You have to give a person a chance! I think it was stereotypical because I'm a minority! Hard working, came to work everyday and did a great job, at least that's what I was told. I had never been written up or had a bad call. One day I came in from lunch and they let me go! That's life changing and not good when you didn't do anything to constitute termination.

Pros

The project managers and consultants at OSV have formed great teams (value #2), and truly seek the best for others (value #8). Most people are humble (value #3), and everyone tries to have fun (value #7). The company has tried to practice innovation (value #4), and many well-intentioned people are trying to fix what's broken (value #5).

Cons

The Ten Values upon which the company was built -- still plastered about the building and posted on social media sites on a very regular basis (and, of course, updated with new company branding colors and fonts) -- are no longer of the supreme importance they once were. In between the C-level management and the EL/PM/Consultant teams, there is little-to-no mention of, awareness of, or shared commitment to those values. NOTE: The word "CUSTOMER" does not appear *anywhere* in the Ten Values. The company grew faster than it was able to sustain, its reputations with Workday and customers have suffered, and management is now in reaction mode. The large commitment of outside capital has shifted the focus to making financial numbers that will satisfy those outside investors.

Pros

I love OSV...the pace, the career opportunity, the smart people and the Workday ecosphere we work in. OSV is a values-based company, and these values guide both how we operate and the expectations of our people up and down the organization. The company invests in people, and there's more opportunity for internal promotion than anywhere I've worked before. I'm also having more fun in my job than anywhere I've worked before.

Cons

OSV is a fast-growing company where the pace and continually growing expectations aren't for everybody. In addition, we made some staffing forecast mistakes that negatively impacted a small group of people. We learned from that, we treated people fairly and we've institutionalized changes to ensure we don't ever repeat our error. This is a company very focused on solving problems, learning and growth.
