Pros

Work with great people who want to make great technology.

Cons

Below average pay. More and more upper level managers are being hired while talent is leaving due to constant reductions in work force. Less and less people working so everyone has to pick up the slack with no new hires. CEO says no employee appreciation anymore in all hands meetings while he sells $15 million in stock each quarter. Blames everyone but himself for low stock prices and low gross margins. This will be the year of a mass exorcist of talent. Life/work balance is all work. You don't want to work here anymore.

Pros

Onto is focused on a semiconductor industry that has enough room for their cookie cutter products.

Cons

1. Poorly managed from top down 2. No organic innovation with light investment in acquisitions 3. Revolving door for people and ideas 4. Placed 3rd or falling to companies like KLA, who are a beast in growth opportunity and investing in rich R&D 5. Weak sales projections in 2024 while their competition sales are best ever, exceeding targets

Pros

-Hard working, good natured people, -Supportive managers that do their best despite the often not-ideal circumstances of many projects. -Got to work on some interesting and challenging projects. -Beneficial for entry level engineers (you get thrown into the fires which isn't always a bad thing...)

Cons

-Compensation is not that competitive compared to its rivals, very little room for growth. -Upper management does not invest back into the people, morale is extremely low. -Projects are often not started until last minute making everything an emergency project and "high priority" or "revenue critical". In my experience this has led to cutting corners in the PLC process and not fully understanding the problem statement which has come back to bite you in the rear... -Management has acknowledged that we often over promise, yet fail to deliver on time, but nothing changes.
