Pros

Decent commission structure, variety of recruiting tools, no micromanaging

Cons

Lots of lies during my interview to make this sound like the perfect opportunity. Lied about team size, day-to-day tasks, growth potential...everything was dwindling out by the time I joined. They cut down on perks that really caught my eye (PTO policy, remote capabilities, mobile data reimbursement, affordable healthcare, etc.) My computer barely worked and getting a replacement was out of the question. Upper management offered no support at all and our only conversations were about how much money I'd be making them. There was absolutely no training. It felt like I was being urged to fail from day one. There's a ton of office gossip, it was like being in high school.

It is very upsetting to hear you feel this way. We have spent countless hours communicating back and forth with our employees to make sure the culture is everything they wanted, and more. We have received a tremendous amount of positive feedback from our employees, who feel that the morale at the office, including the perks, have never been better! It is important to note that some of what was said in this post is not true and while we believe that feedback is truly a gift, we ask you to please make sure you are posting accurate information when you post on Glassdoor. HR would be happy to clear things up for you so please feel free to give us a call at any time!

Pros

Perks like free snacks. Coffee. Nice office. Generally very little micromanaging. Good benefits, generous base salary especially for the industry.

Cons

The environment is not how it was sold during the interview. It feels somewhat cutthroat and I can’t speak for other employees but I feel that I cannot express my true opinions to management without getting negative reactions. An environment built on fear isn’t one that will keep your employees happy. I understand recruiting has its ups and downs but the environment needs to be more collaborative, less gossipy, more open. Most people are nice on the surface but seem to be hiding their true feelings underneath. I also have heard that the NYC office is completely disconnected from every other office, the commission structures aren’t even the same, little to no communication between offices. That does not seem like a business model that will last.

Thank you so much for writing in and for the feedback. We are sorry that you feel that the environment is cutthroat - although we encourage competition, we strive to have everyone feel part of the Open Systems team. We would be open to suggestions on how we can continue to be more collaborative and open!

Pros

This is a company by recruiters, for recruiters. If you pick up the business (on your own) and work hard, there is a lot of money in this industry. While management has issues, there are some great people working here. If you make the right connections, you can learn a lot.

Cons

Roles outside of recruiters and favored management are not valued, change resistance is high, and there is a large gap between the corporate office and the satellite offices. Compensation is sub-par and the non-salary benefits are not competitive with the particular market I was in.

Thanks so much for writing in - as stated, we love feedback from our employees. We are sorry that you felt that our compensation and non-salary benefits were not competitive, we actually constantly hear the opposite. We are slowly but sure embracing the evolving technology and ideas that are disrupting the recruiting industry but will continue to be better with it. We wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors.
