Pros

Working at OT has been an incredibly positive experience, and I truly feel fortunate to be part of such a remarkable team. The company has a strong team mentality, which is impressive considering we are all working remotely. Everyone here is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, creating a culture that genuinely fosters collaboration and support. It’s clear that many team members come from the hospitality industry, as their warmth and customer-centric approach shine through in everything we do. Additionally, OT offers a fantastic benefits package that goes above and beyond. The company provides numerous perks, including generous paid time off, and even closes during the week between Christmas and New Year's—a truly thoughtful touch that shows how much they value work-life balance. I feel lucky to be part of a company that takes such good care of its employees. In summary, OT not only offers a great work environment but also takes care of its people in a way that reflects the company’s values. It's a great place to grow professionally and feel genuinely appreciated.

Cons

While I truly appreciate and enjoy many aspects of working at OT, there are a couple of areas I believe could be improved. One area is the pay structure and bonus system for management positions. I feel that the compensation could be more competitive given the level of responsibility in these roles. Additionally, the lack of flexibility when it comes to negotiating salary or bonus adjustments can be a challenge for those looking for more tailored growth opportunities. Another aspect I’ve noticed is that political topics, have come up during some all-hands meetings, which can create an uncomfortable or awkward atmosphere. While I understand that everyone is entitled to their views, there seems to be an assumption that everyone shares the same San Francisco-liberal values, which doesn’t always align with the broader diversity of perspectives within the company or presently the country at large. It can be difficult to navigate, especially in a space where differing/conservative opinions may not always be fully acknowledged. Overall, while these are areas for potential improvement, I still believe OT offers a lot of great benefits and a supportive team culture, which I value deeply. These thoughts are just intended to spark conversation for further growth and inclusivity at the company.

Pros

Pay is good. Benefits are also nice, and the work can be exciting especially if you're looking for a transition out of the restaurant world into the corporate space.

Cons

Because of the structure of the company it is all about who your manager is. Cultures can vary drastically from team to team so if your manager sucks, so will your experience at OpenTable. The communication and goals set forth by the c-suite is often out of touch with reality.
