Pros

Nothing good about this company - they are in business of ruining carrers

Cons

After recruiting me over from another company they laid me off after only 6 months due to restructuring. I was fired next day after coming back from business trip where I was robbed at the parking lot. Open Text advised me not to buy travel insurance as I was suppose to be covered by their own insurer. It was shocking enough to be robbed during the trip, but being fired the day I returned was even more shocking. They promised to reimburse for the losses and did not do it for 6 months until I took them to court. I e-mail CEO, VP of HR and my VP. No one ever replied. I had to do what I did and as soon as court case was filed in court they sent me a check for my travel losses. After I was let go, they fired every single manager and VP I worked with - some people worked there for 10-15 years. BUT they hired other people instead. Company has no appreciation of their human capital. Don't go to work there!

Pros

We were recently acquired by OT so I don't have a lot of details. The culture seems nice and the people I've worked with are very friendly.

Cons

None so far. The transitioning of systems is a bit of a challenge but I don't mind. It keeps my day to day interesting,

Pros

Many smart and helpful people work here. If you are in Services, Development, Q&A and other technical areas it is very exciting. OT has been around for over 20 years and continues to grow. It always surprises the folks who love to undervalue it. I believe many of the former sales people have posted negative comments because they were forced to work for their revenue.

Cons

There have been layoffs through acquisitions. Some managers are incompetent or neutral. "Communication" within departments is sometimes really lacking.
