Pros

Open Text is a fast growing company with many opportunities for advancement. They do focus on personal development and care about their people at an executive level. It is a family-friendly organization.

Cons

The general chaos caused by all of the mergers and acquisitions made it difficult to know the overall direction of the company. This would be less of a factor if you joined the main Canadian division. Working for one of the many acquired companies introduces confusion.

Compensation is OK, good balance between private and work life, clever and fun colleagues, working for a company that has never ceased growing on its market

Cons

No or very poor middle management No performance review No investment on People No promotion Poor integration strategy further to acquisition (pretty often have the feeling that Management is trying to put a triangle inside a square box)

Cons

Slow corporate pace, lots of managerial overhead, unclear product strategies, unclear growth strategies, bulk of revenues coming from maintenance of legacy products.
