Pros

I spent the last 8 years working for a large software firm with very little passion for their employees. I knew I had to leave to see what was on the other side for me. I found OpenText. - Work Independence, Trust, Respect on a day to day level even being new. - Impressive internal collaboration with a "get the job done" mentality. - Powerful and rapidly ascending. - OpenText has high aspirations and acts on their initiatives. - Awesome CEO engagement. - Really cool products that customers want, even if some are legacy. - Total benefits.

Cons

- Nothing can ever be perfect. In my short time here, I have yet to identify a con.

Worst “Tech” Company You Could Work For

Pros

If you work, you get a paycheck. Whether or not your peers invest any effort in the same does not matter, as you will still be paid the same as the bottom of the barrel employee.

Cons

-CEO advised he could hire a “click-farm” to raise Glassdoor rating reviews. Don’t let it fool you. -Constant Layoffs -Yearly “merit” increases hang at 1% or less. (Overall Inflation was up 5.6% in 2021, so you will continue to make less and less than you did the year before, regardless of effort or achievement in your work group.) -Acquire and Fire mentality. There is no innovation. Products come here to die. -If you can be replaced with someone cheaper, you will be—even if you received company awards and acknowledgement in the days and months before your termination. -Diversity = a team of white men who consistently speak (mow) over their female counter parts on a daily basis. -Unconscious Bias and Sexual Harassment training is only there to “check the box.” Women have been referred to with pet names in my presence. -The expectation is that you work until you die. - Flexible work arrangements are touted as possible, but are rare. The number crunchers in facilities over estimated the amount of office space required for employees, so there is a major push to return workers to the office. -“Keep your head down” is the mantra to ensure you don’t make the short list for termination.
