Pros

You work with a challenging population, and are put in a position to influence change. It's a great starting point to develop your resume and work towards certifications and licensing. There are also ample opportunities to network with partnering organizations, and development opportunities through various trainings.

Cons

It's female dominated. There are racial disparities that are underlying. No equity. If you're in the in crowd, you're good to go. If you stand firm in your convictions, you're immediately ousted/ostracized.
