A great place to work!

Pros

WFH and flexible hours Outstanding work/life balance - overtime for Dev/QA was limited to end-of-project crunch time for the most part Great culture/good people - the office was as devoid of drama and gossip as one could ask The company genuinely cares about you - not feeling like a number is fantastic Current technology - The company isn't afraid to work new technology into projects (with appropriate research, of course) and fear of technical stagnation from a career perspective is a non-issue Company size - the company is big enough that organization is required but small enough that things can still get done in a timely manner without a lot of administrative overhead Management is more than competent and does a great job of keeping employees informed of where the company is headed and the reasoning behind certain decisions. Have questions? That's no problem because upper management is very approachable. Free snacks/drinks, concert/sporting event tickets - The company provides free snacks/drinks, catered lunches on Fridays, frequent free tickets to local Atlanta events, etc. Textbook Agile development - well, as close as I think you can get to it, at least. They take Agile processes very seriously and obey by the 'rules' whenever possible. No intentional silos of knowledge - everyone is more than willing to answer questions about an area you may not be familiar with and information is shared freely. Being able to get correct answers to questions quickly and reliably is really nice.

Cons

Complex product - training could be improved overall, but the product is so large in scope and functionality that training is just scratching the surface of the detail. The real learning process begins once you're assigned to a Scrum team and that's when real effort will be required on your part. Free snack/drinks - I have no self control and gained about 20 lbs working at Optima.

Great benefits, unsatisfactory training

Pros

- Good pay - Free health/dental/vision (yes, free) - Free lunch on Fridays

Cons

A very fast, unstructured method of training leaves new hires constantly stressing and needing additional help, often in under-the-gun situations that leaves customers irritated.
