Here's the truth about Optiv

Pros

Here’s why you should come work for Optiv: Want to pay the highest insurance premiums, deductibles and office visit copays ever? Optiv can give you that (seriously, $300 is the network discount rate to see a GP). Want to struggle to get sales closed because the internal InfoSec and Legal department is so backward that their goal is to pick a part and devalue every transaction? Optiv can give you that. Want to see the execs' (unqualified) buddy’s get hired and promoted instead of the people who work hard and actually deserve it? Yep, Optiv can give you that too. Want to be hired under the guise that you will be making huge bonuses, only to find out that the company never hits its "magical number" and instead are in constant worry that the company is about to sink? Optiv definitely has that. And lastly, if you want to have to worry about whether or not your paycheck will show up on Friday, and for the correct amount, you’re in luck, Optiv’s payroll department will definitely help you accomplish that.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. 2018 was a tremendous year and the best one yet at Optiv with over 100% of bonuses paid. We significantly increased the company payout in benefits this year and look forward to continuing to provide a robust total rewards plan.

Pros

working from home is nice, there are some smart people in the company, work life balance is pretty good, pretty high-profile clients

Cons

Private equity who owns the company just cares about profits+growth at the expense of everything else, so optiv rushes to hire the bottom of the barrel in order to keep growing as fast as possible additionally they are trying to cut costs to get numbers up too. many people report having expense reports rejected because 'we get charged per expense report by concur'. it's as asinine as it sounds. Can't retain talented people or hire new ones because the salaries are low and the company isn't able to distinguish which people are talented in the first place

Pros

The people are amazing and try to do their best, but their hands are tied by incompetent leadership in the marketing department.

Cons

Lack of flexibility. Management tracks your days in the office, CMO that knows nothing about marketing. Plus he plays favorites and puts his direct reports against one another. He puts people into positions without allowing others to apply.
