      Highly competitive compensation, generous vacation package and benefits, laid back work environment and dress, attractive office amenities (catering, massages, game room), challenging work

      Rigid advancement system with relatively few steps and giant space between in terms of compensation, opaque review process is often subjective

      1. Optiver is relentless in its quest to be the best market maker in the world, all the while maintaining a commitment to better financial markets for everyone. 2. There is a strong culture for self-assessment and critique. Everyone is always pushing to be better. Overall, it's a very ambitious bunch of people. 3. Compensation is very attractive.

      Cons

      1. Although the compensation is extremely attractive, it is variable. That bothers some folks who would prefer to receive their compensation in a steady stream.

      Pros

      You get to work with some of the sharpest people in the industry, as well as learn new industry information and terms on a daily basis. There is ample room for growth and professional development as long as you are willing to look for them.

      Cons

      It can be a stressful environment, but that is the nature of the industry. The amount of work Optiver puts in to make it a fun/casual office certainly offsets that.
