Pros

-Easy to request the day off -Managers (at least for me) understand how stressful the job is -Ability to WFH

Cons

-Super stressful, they keep adding more offices (meaning more job to do) and trainings are only an hour -Super super low pay! They keep giving you more job to do and pay stays the same -No growing If you wanna work here, just take it as a stepping stone while you find something else because you will be stuck in the same position. Even managers have told me that growing in the company is super hard. - Managers know that offices and upper management are marking the job even more difficult and they don’t have a voice -Constant coaching for things that are offices fault but they still oppress you with constant coaching. -There’s a lot of “leaders” that they only thing they do is micromanage, but not helping develop any skills. There are people that have been promoted and they are definitely not leaders whatsoever. -Benefits aren’t that good, tried before the employee assistance and even their customer service doesn’t align with what they say

Pros

-Relatively flexible work time/WFH -Recently provided a new floating holiday (PTO) to employees -There are *small* pockets within the company where innovation, learning, and engineering best practices are promoted and nurtured (unfortunately on the decline of late)

Cons

-The IT arm of the company now feels completely managed by finance people, who are cutting funding for and knee-capping innovation, hardening, and refactoring efforts -Management/leadership has absolutely degraded enormously the past several years - there is tangible feel that executive focus has shifted away from their employees and "doing what is right/best" to "doing what makes the most money". -Salary increases and RRP have continued to be a disappointment even when overperforming set goals (based more on feeling/nepotism than merit/value add) - barely seeing more than 1-4%. -Management and leadership does not appreciate or actively encourage process improvement, employee development/training, nor team building. Often they are active blockers to it - immediately dismissing or sabotaging efforts. Despite employee surveys and feedback for change, action is not taken and instead we are given an excuse (with little to no justification) or it is ignored in hopes that it just "goes away"

Pros

Good team and generally everyone is committed to a common goal.

Cons

Morale has significantly waned since Optum Technology revoked ALL telecommuting in February-2019, and they require you to report into the office your team is located (not necessarily the closest office). Insult to injury, they are remodeling most locations to agile/open/free space (Google space) so nothing but open tables with no assigned desks, which is very noisy and distracting. Lot of hypocrisy, different rules for management.
