Pros

- Flexibility to move around given the TDP program for college hires to find your best fit and potentially change career paths down the line - Raleigh office hosts amenities in the building however their maintenance is a little iffy - Optum has funding for years as it is partnered with UHG so work is plentiful - Benefits are decent including a ESPP

Cons

- Directors within the area are focused on the opinions of the business and will treat development teams as vendors. Claiming they practice innovation and learning but most of my opinions at least were shot down and never followed up on. - Favoritism is very apparent and only certain employees will be given compensation and / or promotions frequently. Giving shy excuses for the distribution of pay to others and often leaving many behind the curve of standard inflation, especially in the Raleigh area - The previous statement can be made for most if not all of the projects ongoing within the area. ultimately creating cliques of individuals driving the offices culture - The offices culture always seems to be going downwards, a strong "I disagree" mentality can be seen with new lead hires along with directors as well. Passionate opinions 90% of the time lead to tense conversations about what to do next and often are enforced by what the Products owners think - Product owners, quality engineers, and director level leadership dont have technical knowledge compared to development leading to developers constantly backfilling and maintaining work coming down at that level - Turnover is constantly happening only to be backfilled with outsourced hires causing generations of "legacy code" to build off of - taking advantage of rules within our healthcare system to make as much profit as possible
