Pros

Oracle has some of the most brilliant people I've ever worked with and an excellent working environment. It's not as sexy as Google or Facebook, but we are working on cutting edge stuff and I feel like the people I work with are some of the smartest in the field. Many of us have turned down or left jobs at the big Silicon Valley places because we didn't want to live on the west coast or do government crap. I still feel like I have a ton of stuff to learn and there are a ton of cool new things on the horizon to build. I've peeked around at the other top places in the area and none have impressed me or offered me anything I don't have right now. One uniquely nice thing about Oracle is that when people say cool stuff is going to happen "in a few months" it actually does happen in a few months. I feel like our upper management is really advocating for us.

Cons

Oracle Cloud sucks and we're obviously stuck with it, the legal department is pretty much a waste of air and water but what legal department isn't

Pros

-Well-known Class Of training program opens the door for many opportunities -Very young environment, majority of office is under 30

Cons

-Lack of a strong management force leads to inconsistencies across the organization -Your experience is 100% dependent on your Manager and your Reps, whom you often never get to meet in person. -100% a phone job -I you are selling cloud SaaS instead of PaaS/IaaS (which you do not know until day 1) you will make significantly less money in bonuses regardless of achievement.

Pros

Great products with solid IP. Integration story across S/P/IaaS and will take the cloud market, overcoming Amazon and Google.

Cons

Not a lot of internal promotions, unless there is growth within your specific team area. Translated, if you are tied to a market, like I am, then you will see the team, budgets and personal growth. If you are not, then you don't see a lot of growth. It's easier to leave the org and then get hired back in at a higher salary and title than it is to stay here and accomplish the same thing.
