      Pros

      Latest Software Technology, ability to develop new products from scratch and bring them to market. Interact directly with customers about their requirements and create solutions for them.

      Cons

      Lack of visibility about competitors in the market place. Not able to interact directly with customers during open world to get updates from existing needs and get visibility into their future business requirements.

      Oracle - Good Company, But Be Careful

      Pros

      Oracle is a profitable company which is a good thing in today's IT environment. Sales reps have great opportunities to make significant incomes. Oracle offers very good benefits. Good family/work balance (working from home).

      Cons

      Management is too controlling. Approvals have to be made way up to senior management for everything. This slows processes significantly. Manager needs to be empowered to make decisions. Acquisition of Sun was not handled well from the employee standpoint. Tough transition with little direction and feedback to be productive in the new environment. Oracle did not seem to value the acquired employees. Disappointing.

      1) Good people to work with 2) Flexibility 3) Good technology to work with 4) Good brand value on the resume

      Cons

      1) Benefits could be a lot better 2) Limited growth opportunities in HQ 3) Spend long hours working with the IDC team 4) Very difficult to hire in HQ
