      Pros

      Oracle has great technology and is the leading database software. With the acquisition of Sun Microsystems, Oracle has the potential to take on IBM as the leading IT provider. Oracle also has very intelligent and capable people - probably some of the smartest in the industry.

      Cons

      Oracle chiefly values its technology, marketshare and the profits the technology delivers with minimal consideration of its employees as valuable assets to the company. At some point the company will stumble - as all companies do at some point in their history. The real question is will their be enough loyalty and commitment on the part of the employees at Oracle to weather the storm?

      Pros

      Some pros were mobility within the organization, diversity of staff, compensation was very competitive. Employees in my group were treated very well overall.

      Cons

      Very large company to less chance to differentiate oneself. Also slower to adopt new technologies and the pace of projects felt monolithic at times.
