      Pros

      In the technology field Oracle has a very good name and there is some pride in being able to say that you work for Oracle. Oracle is also a technology leader in many sectors and beats other competitors. Oracle has also rapidly expanded through strategic acquisitions to become a premier player in the business software sector beyond the core relational database products

      Cons

      Oracle is not an employee friendly company. They don't really place much emphasis on the individual. The overall benefits are also fairly poor for this industry sector. Working for a large company like Oracle has drawbacks due to its size

      good bunch of people to work with

      Pros

      competitive, smart and very competitive bunch of people, on the whole people are easy to work with. Things got a little crazy at the last 12 months of it's existence, but otherwise management generally had good (if sometimes misguided) intentions.

      Cons

      suit and tie, top management takes care of themselves first. There seem to be a perception that you are only good if you have an MBA (particularly from the ivy leagues) and that MBAs can do anything, even if they have absolutely no aptitude, experience, or interest in the particular part of the job. E.g. QA, UI design, software design.

      Pros

      If you have a family and kids, want to take it easy and settle down in life, work at Oracle. Or, as an entry level job, Oracle is not a bad place to work for a year or two to add to your resume. Because it looks better on the resume than it actually is. The fitness center is good.

      Cons

      Reward for level of contribution vary widely between groups. If you are unlucky to be in the wrong group, forget about career advancement. If you are looking for some exciting work to motivate you, this is not the place to be.
