Freedom, flexibility and professionalism is best in Oracle. Apart from this, the culture is very friendly, people are highly supportive which makes Oracle a great place to be. It is upto the individual. If somebody is highly ambitious and also gets a good manager, then there is no stopping. Highly ambitious and bad manager, you are doomed. If this somebody is laid back and just does the work - a perfect place to be.
Cons
Highly manager driven and no skip level at all. Performance reviews are not done in some of the groups and how the salary is reviewed is totally unknown. In some groups one can also see a lot of favouritism and its difficult to break and grow up purely based on performance because end of it all, its your manager who will be rating you.
