Pros

You have a job at least. you can work from home, insurance is pretty good, keep your head down and don't complain, and they won't bother you

Cons

Pay really sucks, as does management; really, no real managment, just covering their you know whats. Now in the recession, they want to 'Lift' employees, and asking for ways to save money, but after years of no raises or bonuses, no one will speak on Calls. They have to bribie employees to ask questions on conf.calls now, after all the questions were about Raises, and they refused to answer those kinds of questions

Pros

Employee benefits (e.g., insurance, etc.), work location in the Peninsula which always has beautiful weather, corporate perks (e.g., food/drink on the floor), ability to work from home, great technical resources, extremely talented and hungry employee base, a beautiful corporate campus, provides a great name and reference on a resume.

Cons

Not a true meritocracy, the entire business relies on the database, politics plays a huge part within the organization, "what happens when Larry leaves?," many employees are great at their positions but that leaves some decisions and insights to be binary in nature (e.g., either you're brilliant or this is the most doomed idea on the planet).

Pros

At Oracle, there are a lot of opportunities to work from home - many of my colleagues would work from home 3 days a week. This was because we were all part of project teams that spanned the globe and most of our work was done on conference calls. I've found that subsequent employers were very impressed with Oracle being on my resume, even though I've gotten more relevant and interesting experience at smaller companies where I've had to play a larger role.

Cons

The pay here is terrible. After two years of stellar performance, I was given a 1.25% raise, which was the maximum my manager could give to me. There are very few opportunities to get promoted.
