Pros

-Extremely valuable training program -Great experience at a Corporate Company -Good benefits -Good work/life balance -Made good friends as most colleagues are college graduates -Nice to have name on Resume

Cons

-High Turnover rate -90% of reps are negative and do not like working environment -Within my first 1.5 years I had been in 3 different territories, had 3 different managers, 3 different teams, and 3 different directors. -They will block internal transfers, extremely hard to grow internally. They encourage reps to look at other opportunities within Oracle after a year if sales is not true passion. I interviewed for a new position within Oracle, informed my boss of my interest of this transfer and got their verbal approval. After multiple rounds of interviews I got an offer. But then it was blocked by my Sales Org because they were too unorganized to sign my approval. I was given a shrug and told there were many other jobs at Oracle I could apply to, and got short-listed as an employee who was going to leave or quit soon. Honestly I know more reps who have had better luck leaving Oracle and then coming back instead of transferring internally. -They do not care about employees in their indoor Sales Dept. Cut-throat, they layoff or demote loyal and hard working employees. No method to the madness. We are easily replaceable -No trust in our leaders Joanne Olsen or Todd Cione -Bad Commission Plan -Long sales cycles, can take a year to close deal -Slow moving ship -Lead Generation/BDC teams are a joke. They stuff the pipeline with fake/bad opportunities, in order to hit their big bonus. Only to cut opportunities down to reality at the end of the quarter. Sales teams receive no real support. -No praises, no raises -Not true sales role, In good territories reps are merely paper pushers for field reps. Accounts are not distributed fairly, year after year bad territories never clear 15% of their quota. Some reps are glorified, even though they never made 1 cold call/email, they just got lucky in an Oracle hot territory and/or had a good field rep. -Recruiter told me I would make 80K after first couple months, I make 45K. Misrepresentation. -They micromanage -Annual re-orgs

Pros

This review is based on my experience with Oracle Consulting. Other departments may vary: - Wonderful, comprehensive benefits package. - Opportunity to work remote if the client allows it. - Diverse product offering means you'll never get bored doing the same thing. - Being the top database and database application company means Oracle isn't going under anytime soon. - Free Oracle University training (as long as your cost center pays for it). - Decent work / life balance if you get onto a project with competent project management. - Very progressive company with regards to corporate culture and values.

Cons

Again, cons are based on my experience at Oracle Consulting. Sales, marketing, product development, etc experiences will vary: - Your resource manager will only see / talk to you once a year, and they are the ones responsible for your performance review. Not good. - Pay is extremely low when compared to other Oracle development / consulting jobs in the industry. - Layoffs almost every quarter. If you find yourself in between projects, expect a severance package in the mail. - Performance reviews are actually not based on performance, but dictated by upper management. This creates an environment of favoritism. - Senior management in consulting had been in disarray while I was there, resulting in low morale. - Oracle Consulting is a revolving door and Oracle is turning into a training house for other companies. - Promotions / raises take forever. Every year they have a new excuse as to why they can't promote you.

Pros

1. Very bright individuals work here. You will find great mentors and networks. You will find out that the GREAT LEADERS don't last long here and leave which will give you a great network to follow outside of Oracle. You will learn allot here, more than any company. 2. Everyone believes in the product(s)... wave a dollar above your head and you will have a stampede in support to help close deals. Sometimes it was just too much; a R-VP, R-Director, Account Rep, Database (Tech) Rep,,, and then one or two customers. Oracle BUS defined! The technology is great and is a real game-changer and you will be assisted in ever facet of the sale process. The support is unlimited! 3. Company accessibility to clients shows... you will never have trouble reaching out to the customer or getting their attention. Oracle has a strong brand name and an intense sales engine. There are those who love and follow Oracle technology... but be prepared to have customers hate you just as much... because it's always kind to drop an audit on a customer once and a while so you can make your quota.

Cons

1. Don't outsell or over-perform here... you will be slaughtered by your colleagues that are not. You will be marketed against and give additional territory responsibilities with little ROI to your effort. 2. Management has their directive--grow the business mafia style. Machetes are clearly visible as a threat and are used... don't perform in two QTR's, you will be out. If you don't ensure balancing a long-term hiring strategy, you will be caught with the wave of firing you have to do. Hiring within your network is a serious decision... will you be there to over-see their growth? Will you have to be the person that fires them? You will also find that filling your positions with quality will have it's cost, as everyone knows how brutal Oracle is to their employees. 3. Internally, Oracle's customer data and past purchases are absent!!! The business lines can't look into any other business lines. Poaching is heavily present, lack of purchase data for RIO figures, lack of customer license data, even booking order details are withheld. Everything is locked down and the sales rep is left to conduct zero insight to the their customers to actually help them... just get out there and sell them more!!!
