      Pros

      the job is fun & easy (mostly). People are nice, generally.

      Cons

      The men in my same role who have similar (or less) experience than me are paid more. HR/compensation committee doesn't seem to have a clear process for ensuring equitable treatment of employees.

      Lot of autonomy, decent pay package and decent benefits.

      Cons

      Oracle is going through a fight for its life. Oracle is being attacked by Saas vendors across the board. Also being challenged by many tech startups at the core database and Amazon, Google and Microsoft in PaaS, SaaS and IaaS. As a result Oracle is scrambling in all corners of the business to remain relevant with a largely on premise software portfolio when the rest of the world has embraced SaaS.

      Pros

      Friendship with employees who are going through the same struggles with Oracle.

      Cons

      They ruined the company we were before Oracle purchased us. They came in with so many promises and none of them came true. Employee turnover is extremely high, about 50% of the work force of our original company has left. This is due to promises of wage increases that never ever occur even after years. They refuse to hire employees to back-fill the position of those who left. They promised us our friday lunches would continue and they did for about a month and then it was cut off. The team morale is extremely low and everyone is looking for new jobs. Forced use of vacation days.
