Pros

The opportunity exists to make a lot of money at Oracle, but that success doesn't necessarily equate to getting promoted or growing your career. Oracle has such large software installations across the globe that there will ALWAYS be customers that need to buy software. Oracle does sell some of the best, most reliable software in the industry. They spend a significant amount of money on R&D (in areas where they choose to). Brand recognition exists and Oracle does sell complete solutions and sells something to address almost any issue a customer faces across their enterprise. Excellent benefits.

Cons

As in life, nothing at Oracle is fair. Their are astronomically lofty expectations of certain sales teams that are so unrealistic, it sets people up to fail. Hard work does NOT mean that you will be successful, there are many people who do not work hard and find success, and there are people who work very, very hard and don't make even remotely close to their On Target Earnings. Many Oracle customers are frustrated with how many different people from Oracle reach out to them. Oracle doesn't care about that, that is the model the company has adopted. Many times that leads to contentious relationships with accounts and a toxic environment to be expected to sell software in. Teams across Oracle are not encouraged to work together. It's actually discouraged and it causes many issues with how accounts are managed and what is communicated to customers.

Pros

Interesting and challenging work. The people are almost universally friendly and, despite generally low morale due to inadequate compensation, are always willing to help one another. Experience at Oracle is a good resume builder. Attorneys frequently leave to join exciting startups or top-tier companies like Google, Uber, Facebook, and Salesforce.

Cons

Compensation is so far below market that managers apologize to you about it when they're out of the GC's earshot. Because Oracle is so stingy with raises, new hires are brought in at salaries higher than more experienced attorneys in the group, which destroys morale. Yes, the salary structure actually gives you an incentive to leave for another job, because if you ever came back you would be paid more than when you left. The company is tone deaf to the problem, so most people use it as a stepping stone after leaving a law firm before moving on to better positions elsewhere.

Pros

-Good/Positive Environment -There are ample of opportunities to make money! -Improvements in internal applications

Cons

-Excel spreadsheets is the new CRM at Oracle -Tons of Oracle reps across various LOBs call into the same accounts -Internal processes yield more obstacles and hurdles than the actual sale cycle with customers -Lack of high availability on its mission-critical apps (yes even during it's 4th Quarter!) -Stringent policies recently in place for certain organizations regarding career progression -Some managers are great while others are tools/ "yes men". -Lead generation/BDC Teams are a joke!! They bloat pipeline with crap opportunities to then only to reduce them after quarter-end to realistic figures in order reap excessive compensation! Thus sales teams across the board lack real support -Need huge improvement in career progression path; If you don't know other managers, it's difficult to know what positions are available for you. Networking is very important but difficult to do especially when there aren't any funded events that bring different teams together
