Pros

There are opportunities to move within the company. Employee benefits are pretty good. They were supportive of funding training and certifications.

Cons

Oracle purchased our very successful medium-sized business and within two years managed to un-delight most of our customers. Releasing software is a royal pain and takes a very long time. Too many unfounded rules. PTO plan for long-term employees is not very good - you max out at 5 years.

Cons

Lower pay than other companies; pay rise is negligible or non existent. Benefits have been very good historically, but my PPO covers much less this year.

Pros

Oracle, especially in the past, has been a big proponent of working from home. This is a perk in itself and helps with work/life balance. Note, however, that certain organizations have stopped this and are now requiring people to be in the office full-time. Vacation amounts are fair. Business is fast-paced with new products and acquisitions. Oracle is generally an industry leader which is good for job security.

Cons

Raises and bonuses are rare - even when executives continue to make loads of money and the stock price rises. Little focus on training or career development. Seems to be little opportunity for promotion / career growth.
