      Pros

      Good to start in, crap to grow up in. Fair and corporate. Don't screw them, they won't screw you. They never did me wrong. the fortune 500 mindset gets to some people.

      Cons

      Monotony does not begin to describe things. Then frantic and rushed changes. Then monotony. The frantic and rushed changes were never good. A decade. No major software update impacting support was a positive one. Some were less bad than others.

      Support engineering work exposes you to complex technical challenges. Team collaboration is generally good and there are opportunities to improve technical skills. Stable organization with well-established processes. Access to internal training resources is helpful for skill growth.

      Cons

      Workload is consistently heavy and often stressful. Compensation felt below the market for the level of responsibility. No stock, shares, or bonus options were offered. Limited recognition for the effort required in customer-facing support roles.
