Pros

Worked there for 4 years and loved the patient care that was provided. Best of the best. New financial issues and budget cuts causing problems this past year.

Cons

With new budget cuts, " non-essential" employees are forced to take mandatory paid time off when there are census fluctuations. No longer able to accrue vacation time without having to use it at their request. Positions not refilled once vacated. Overworked staff. Positions vacated are not filled due to not being approved by management. This results in not enough hours in the day to complete all of the work required due to not functioning at full capacity with staff. Not good for morale, or for employee mental health.

Orlando Health IT Job review

Pros

Job security. Being a large health care system they rarely if ever lay off IT people. There are medium size IT dept so there is a good chance to lateral move to other departments.

Cons

All most impossible to get ahead here they rarely promote from within and love to swap up management at least once a year. The senior IT managers manage through indimatiation and a culture of reprisal.

Pros

Flex schedule, benefits, depending on what department you can work remotely

Cons

The revenue management department suffers from a lack of clear direction, with policies and expectations changing almost weekly without proper communication. Management’s passive-aggressive approach—such as vague feedback or dismissing concerns as misunderstandings—feels like gaslighting and erodes trust. The team is cliquish, with favoritism creating an uneven playing field for opportunities. This environment led to constant confusion, low morale, and inefficiencies in our financial workflows. Clear communication without the passive aggressive behavior, stop micromanaging your staff but pretending you don’t. If you value your mental health, i would advise working elsewhere where. I dread turning my computer on.
