      Staff raise and bonus are practically non existent

      I feel they do care about the staff Moral in the office. We were treated well while working.

      Cons

      My raise for 5 years was less than 2%. My bonus for hard work was $1500. Then I was told I was maxed out for salary and would never get a raise again. Ever. And then I was told my bonus would NOT reflect the deficit of no raise. So it makes no difference if I stay late or put the extra effort to get projects out. I always work hard. But if I slack or go above and beyond it makes no difference.

      Good PTO and benefits. Good pay.

      Cons

      The firm currently has a ration of 6 attorneys per secretary. You work really hard and there is no toleration of less than perfect work. Attorney's don't communicate well with secretaries. There is definitely a us vs. them attitude with staff.

      I enjoyed (most of) my colleagues.

      Cons

      All you need to know about Orrick if you are considering joining their marketing/BD department is that over 12 long term members of the team have left in less than two months. This place is dysfunctional and unless you like to be talked down to, micromanaged (including needing to log your time like the lawyers do) and unappreciated, I would keep looking. This has to be one of the worst experiences I’ve had working in a law firm.
