Pros

Aside from the perks that even the 1-star raters agree on, the environment is greatly improving. People that survived the scale-back from last year seem cautiously optimistic and excited to be improving the product, company, and each other.

Cons

Anything I could list here is improving. It has the right people working on doing the right things.

Very easy to get setup and handle daily tasks. Payroll system was efficient and feedback was dealt ina timely manner

Have a set career path, with the options of branching out. Have another field you are interested in after starting with OwnLocal? You have the opportunity to transition within the company. Gives you responsibility from day one. Free lunch everyday. Take it when you need it vacation policy. Free Starbucks.

Cons

Just like any growing startup, could get acquired at any moment, which is a pro or con.

It might be interesting for you to know that while we have had several opportunities to sell the company over the years, we have turned them all down because money is not the most important thing to our team, nor to me personally. OwnLocal has been successful not because of a great idea, but because of the amazing people that have executed on that idea. My number one goal at OwnLocal is to provide a space for hard-working people to do the best work of their lives, and to me, that's more important than an easy exit.
