Pros

- Work life balance except for some isolated business units - Pension and 401k - Indoor gym in corporate building - Centrally located in Bellevue - Lots of opportunities to wear different hats and move to different groups - Slow environment - A pro if you value this. Since the business hasn't changed much the amount of work to keep it going is minimal - Free parking at Bellevue Square mall

Cons

If you've ever seen the corporate building it is a concrete structure that almost looks like juvenile hall. The work culture like the building is very rigid and conservative. The rigidity (concrete) results in a culture that does not want to evolve when it comes to the work environment. The conservatism (gray color of the building) promotes a work culture of conformity and bureaucracy. Workers here are not encouraged to experiment if it does not align with management views of the world. Individualism is discouraged which is why everyone in senior management are clones of each other. Several other cons are listed below: - Dress code suit and tie and clean shaven - Must pickup phone within 3 rings - Very quiet environment to the point you can hear everything

They don't care about you at all. Back from COVID on day 1.

Pros

Most other employees are very nice and suffering along with you.

Cons

They don't care about you, your health, your comfort, your opinion. Every suggestion employees make gets ignored. PACCAR was the last company in town to let employees work from home when COVID hit and the first to being them back. Like I said, they don't care about you. Men wear suits. Still. Every day. No really, they do.

Pros

There are some good people there, the people aren't the problem, the culture is.

Cons

The look of defeat worn by 98% of the employees New ideas are not welcome They promote loyalty and tenure rather than merit They try to manage by fear It's a living model of 'how to run a company poorly'
