Pros

-You learn what not to do in dentistry - you learn to avoid all DSOS at all costs. Never again!!!

Cons

-pay- your schedule will be incredibly light with no opportunities to make your daily goal. The company will expect you to make over $2500 daily off ~3-5 patients (many whom are new patients and don’t even have cavities). -bad / long hours - even if you don’t have patients for hours they’ll make you stay there all day which will ruin your ADP and make it impossible to go above your minimum. You’ll essentially end up working long days to make 30k. Some offices even make you work weekends despite the weekend schedule not even being productive/ full. -poor / limited supplies - dental school had superior supplies than these offices. They are so cheap about supplies they basically count how many gloves you use and try to tell you not to change your gloves. -zero mentorship- was told there’s a great mentorship program. There’s nothing. The owners are typically too consumed with over producing and don’t have time to “help you” -quantity over quality - they force you to do shortcut ways of dentistry that aren’t to the patient’s benefit - not patient-centered - rather than doing quadrant dentistry they prefer to just have you numb up the patient’s entire mouth and do everything in one visit because they are afraid if same day treatment isn’t done then the patient won’t come back - everything - the list goes on. I urge you to stay away from this disgusting place because you will only pick up bad habits here and on top of that won’t make any $. -environment -witnesses multiple accounts of workplace harassment where they enjoy victimizing a team member so they can use the team member to “make a lesson” for everyone. Also, there’s zero diversity

Pros

Great front desk folks, great dental assistants, awesome office manager, all working under bad circumstances.

Cons

Understaffed, overworked, underpaid, underappreciated. I can't speak for every PDS office, but the one that I worked at (Orchard Dental) was perhaps the worst dental office I've worked at in my time as a dental assistant. The fact that my office was able to operate the way it operates makes me have little faith in the company as a whole. This company stands behind the Bible in their mission statement, but it practices like something from Hell. As a dental assistant for PDS, you'll spend your days running around trying to keep set up/break down rooms, seat patients, take x rays, apply restorations, miss lunch, and APOLOGIZE to patients when their treatment is taking two hours longer than promised as a result of the office being overbooked and the dentists offering more same day treatment than the staff/the equipment can handle. Absolutely disgusting.

Pros

There are absolutely no pros to this company.

Cons

Everything. Idiot executives. Idiot managers. Constant turnover. Quota production requirements. Owners are not actually owners. They are puppets in the hands of management, led by Stephen Thorne, an egocentric clown.
