Overall a positive experience, some issues but what company is perfect? I enjoyed my time here and learned a lot.
Pros
Managers I dealt with were nothing short of amazing. They truly care about their employees and go out of their way to make sure the employees feel supported, understood, and taken care of. The colleagues I was privileged with being surrounded by and working with were some of the best people I have ever worked with. There was no jealousy, attitudes, or conflicts whatsoever that I have sadly experienced many times throughout my career. Truly thankful that I was able to take advantage of such great networking opportunities and learn from these wonderful individuals. Compensated well via salary and many other benefits including gas subsidy, ability to work from home if needed, beautiful modern campus where coffee, breakfast foods, snacks, and healthy food options were provided at no cost to employees, significant 401k employer matching, frequent morale boosting activities that took attention off monotonous workload and allowed employees to feel like they were a part of something bigger - frequent volunteering and charity opportunities as well as celebrations for individual and company successes. You can expect small increases in compensation every year as long as you can prove your worth and contributions to the company.
Cons
Far too much downtime. I often asked to take on more responsibilities only to have those new tasks delegated to someone else. Disconnect between what one department felt I should be able to do vs actual limitations of department I primarily worked within. Frustration at feeling like I still did not have firm grasp of essential job skills due to lack of proper training and onboarding after over a year in same position. Old fashioned requirement for staff to be on site 4 days a week instead of truly hybrid schedule proven successful during Covid spikes. Position vacated over 9 months ago remains still remains unfilled despite generous compensation.
