Pros

Great to gain experience and learn after graduation.

Cons

Old fashioned company, top down management: micro-management. Paints are excellent, people / soft skills are none existing. Management by fear, a lot of initiatives that almost never make it to implementation.

Pros

Well-led company. Benefits and compensation are above average. Opportunities for promotion etc. are abundant.

Cons

Not all units of the company are the same. This is a big company and it feels like it--things like IT issues, testing results, etc. can take quite a while and can feel like there is no sense of urgency. There is a lot of speak about improving this conservative culture but often still feels like wordplay. Senior management will talk at you about great ideals, but often won't even answer an email or attempt to listen to you.

Pros

The management lies to their employees and treats them terribly. 40 years of service and walked out the door because they would not fire someone that he felt should not be fired.

Cons

Never go to work for PPG/hate unions too
