Pros

Great benefits. Jobs were interesting, but some could be very labor intensive depending on department.

Cons

You will most likely be stuck in a temporary position with a contractor until you are hired through PPG themselves. They also use a jobclass system so you will make less than your peers for a while (two years), but when you hit jobclass you will be making great money. A LOT of mandatory overtime.

Pros

Onboarding included a training program that teaches you about internal processes and architectural coatings products, otherwise known as paint and caulking. Technical training is very informative and complete with remote access.

Cons

There is ZERO accountability in upper and middle management for anything. The PPG machine relies on misleading employees to believe all is well, forcing you to drink the Kool-Aid and fall in line or be terminated. There is no independent thought in management and as an employee, if you dare mention anything remotely outside the protocol box you are chastised. Computer systems are so antiquated they do not talk to each other, so work arounds are the norm in an extremely inefficient IT system. I can say without hesitation that PPG is the worst company I have ever been associated with as an empoyee. In my 3 decades in management this was the poorest excuse for a Fortune 100 company that claims to care about employees but the words have no meaning. Upper management misleads middle management, who are a group of incompetent people paid to perpetuate the lies to employees down the chain. The metrics of the bonus program were not completed and delievered to employees until September, 2019, when the fiscal year and all measurable metrics for bonuses start in January. No joke. You are held to task for an entire year's metrics but do not know what to aim for until September, for metrics that end in December.
