Pros

The company is one of the largest coatings companies in the world, so we all know that it isn't going to disappear one morning and leave us with no jobs. They are prepared to train their employees from the ground up.

Cons

There is a total lack of communication between corporate headquarters and the field when it comes to expectations and how to reach them. The pay is not commensurate with the work put in. The company more than doubled the size of their architectural business three years ago and still has not put in place a plan which will allow them to move past the struggles of taking over a separate large company within the same industry.

Pros

Excellent compensation, great culture, global travel and responsibility opportunities

Cons

Heavily managed from a financials perspective. Focus is on sales but message is "organic growth". Resource restrictions often limit ability to do both and sales always win.

Pros

Employees at the store level are great to work with. A lot of talented people working hard to get the product out the door. Support staff are a big help as well.

Cons

Level of pay for reps and managers are a joke. If you figure the hourly pay for a manager he makes less per hour than the assistant Mgr and sore associates. Decisions are made for territories with out talking with local management. Middle management is too scared to speak up for the stores. YES MEN ALL THE WAY. PPG doesn't care about the people only the almighty dollar. Corporate says that they have a responsibility to their stock holders How about a little responsibility for your employees.
