Pros

-None -YOU DO NOT HAVE THE TOOLS YOU NEED TO SUCCEED -This is not a real sales job, it should actually be called 'Magician' because they are expecting you to do the impossible -Company car, phone, etc is NOT worth the stress that you will endure as a sales rep for Glidden Home Depot

Cons

-You are not allowed to TOUCH your competition, Behr. Never have I ever worked for a company where the competition complains to store management if you 'go after their customer' -Glidden paint got the short end of the stick when it came down to Glidden vs Behr -You are a sales rep, expected to sell product, that is NEVER in stock -You are told to order product and DTJ(direct to job) since product is not in stock in the store, BUT, a 3rd party freight company delivers your product so there is no accountability for timeliness, customer satisfaction, etc -There is virtually NO ADVERTISING done for your product while your competitors(Sherwin Williams, Behr, Ben Moore) are splashed across tv, radio, billboards, etc yet management expects you to sell product because you are 'training store associates' in the great value of your paint when customers are being brainwashed to pick anyone but you. -You make sales calls and land customers but when these customers go to a store to buy your product there is no inventory, mgmt. expects them to want to hold your hand and call you EVERY TIME they need say 8 buckets of paint. -Marketing keeps coming out with silly gimmicks to market our product instead of investing more in major brand awareness in tv and radio. -If it seems like I am ranting, it is because I am; working for this company Glidden Home Depot was the WORST career decision I have ever made, save yourself.
