Pros

Competitive pay with yearly pay increases. decent benefits and potential recognition.

Cons

management is very discombobulated. poor communication and overall lack of support from supervisors and severe punishments for minor infractions. weekends are unpredictably scheduled and management never works weekends.

Pros

Overall the laid back nature of this company has some outsides. I've enjoyed my time working here much more then when I was working at SW. I have far better hours here then at SW, and it brought balance to my work/home life. I've been compensated more here then at competitors, and when medical issues come up. I'm allowed to leave when I need to. I have not had a single issue with any of my management team, from regional to local.

Cons

The lack of marketing kills new customer engagement. Having the same PPG paint at Home Depot as in the stores kills the stores from growing. This is where SW beats PPG because they have different options held at Lowe's. It creates customers having to go back to Lowe's or upgrade to the "Real" SW line of paint. Another problem is there no commercials for PPG. So it makes proper out reach to the community hard and that will lead to the company stagnating.

Pros

The pay is decent, but the management is a joke.

Cons

Served as the General Manager for PPG's only Distribution Center in Alaska for 2.5 years. Moved the facility, and led every aspect of the operational and logistics improvements through self-imposed goals which created a fast paced and professionally executed logistics team with defined and rehearsed systems. Proven Success and Impact: • Remote from all other PPG elements, I kept a large Chemical Distribution Center open through a 18,000 SF Facility move with 2 million in inventory and assets, COVID (and its related logistical challenges), 4 management changes, and as the solo working employee in Alaska (1/3 of my employment). • Led the remote team development of the operations, sales, and logistics SOPs through 2 of PPG’s major divisions following the massive zone of expected issues during a merger. • Managed and executed sales averaging $350,000 per month. • Directly improved the operations strategy, KPIs, and the entire shipping / receiving, inventory, and warehouse control system. • Led facility based construction projects and completed ahead of schedule. • Provided monthly proposals and options for marketing and customer satisfaction improvements. • Led two facility’s during my employment with zero negative safety issues. • Ultimately, once I had resolved the vast majority of the issues associated with the Anchorage, AK business, PPG found a way to reduce cost by terminating my position for a clerk. The manner in which they did this was the most unprofessional incident I've ever experienced. Two seniors from another PPG division sent an internal email between them and I, and about the customer to the customer. After the customer complained, PPG's management decided to listen to liars, discredit my professional word, and terminated me without any warning, explanation, or anything. Worst company I have ever worked for.
