Clueless upper management

Pros

off at 5 pm everyday, sundays off, paid vacations and holidays with floaters. Company keeps buying up various companies which is good for long term company growth.

Cons

You are just a number with this company, upper management does not take care of the workers on the ground level. The rewards come as star reward points(which they rarely give out) for excelling in your position. this would be alright if the rewards were not a lot of points. Most common rewards given is 4000 points which will only get you 2 cooking spices. It takes 10,000 to get a $50 gift card. Extended saturday hours from 8-12 to 8-4(in some locations), with no OT and even require you to clock out for lunch on Saturday even if your the only 1 working. Not so bad if you got to leave the store but that is not an option. they expect you to clock in/out around customers. The extended store hours was optional with upper management and the brown noser(s) jumped all over it. No consistency because a store just a few miles away may still only be open til 12. Upper management lies to lower level employees. Pay raises SUCK, never more than 25 cents and as little as 4 cents unless in management. Morale SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PPG executives hire decision makers with absolutely no business experience. EX. an upper level decision maker has a background in chemistry is now in charge of 150+ store operations and has never even worked in a store other than to do assessments. Another decision maker has a chemistry background and has been put incharge of designing & implementing a new inventory/ operations program again not having ever worked in a store
