Pros

Salary and benefits are good. Cost of benefits aren’t special and a little on the high side.

Cons

Driven by capital work. Everything contracted out and contractors dictate the terms to the company. Culture is one of fear and siloed. No one wants to own anything for fear of reprisals if wrong. If you’re fortunate to be on the in crowd you’ll do fine. If you can’t play office politics you won’t go anywhere. Capital spend is drying up and management is already talking budget cuts and layoffs. Age discrimination is rampant. There are no mangers over 50. Thank god I have only few years until retirement.

Pros

PPL pays well and has facilities all across eastern PA. It is easy to deflect responsibility to others if you want to avoid responsibility.

Cons

Poor culture, poor accountability on the correct people, throws away money on useless consultants.

Pros

Fantastic Pay. Decent benefits. Challenging work kept the days flying by constantly learning. If you can get into the union, you'll make great money and have a relativity good stable career. At this point though, anyone else should use this place only as a stepping stone or short term.

Cons

On the outside looking in, this company seems amazing. Highly recognized in the power distribution sector. However, it’s not much different than any other corporation wrapped up in itself only trying to look good to the public and shareholders. Corporate environment. Tons of programs, processes (good and bad), and bureaucratic garbage. They’ll talk all day about how much they care about you and your safety. Fact is, managements only covering themselves. Knowing someone on the inside would be greatly beneficial. There’s a few good people and the union brothers, other than that, NO one cares about you here. You’re disposable. A revolving door for management. Employed less than 1 year and had 4 managers. Management demonstrated an underlining of constant fear and showed NO INTEGRITY.
