Pros

Fortune 500 company with unbeatable compensation packages and perks. Beautiful office spaces in great locations. Company sponsored pension is very hard to find anywhere else.

Cons

IT architecture is behind the times, but still does a great job of supporting the various lines of business. Sometimes feels like solving today's problems with yesterdays technology and architecture.

Strong stable company

Pros

Strong, stable company. Decent pay and benefits. Cafeteria and locker room with showers on site at Newport Beach location. Proximity to Fashion Island. Very strong Good Guys program to participate in charitable events. Many employees have worked here forever. This can be both good and bad.

Cons

Annual pay increases are very small, even for higher rated employees. Very "corporate" with the whole annual review process. Other posters have mentioned the antiquated technology that we have available and this is very true. It takes forever to get any new technology implemented and by the time you get it, it's already outdated. The culture is very corporate - sometimes it feels like you are working for the government because of all the approval levels, checks and balances, security measures, etc and the pace that these things move at. Also, some areas have employees that have been here forever, are stuck in their ways, won't think outside the box, just want to follow the rules, and just make things much more difficult and/or time consuming to accomplish than they need to be.
